Moses at the Parting of the Sea
This picture celebrates the Jewish Holiday of Passover, when Moses presided over the splitting of the Red Sea, which allowed the escape of the Hebrews from their Egyptian taskmasters. This artwork includes a number of obvious, as well as hidden symbols, such as 14:21, the sentence in Exodus that describes Moses raising his hands, which initiated the miracle.
