Purim Masks 13-14-15
This painting celebrates the Jewish holiday of Purim (‘lots’), recorded in the Book of Esther, commemorating the deliverance of the Jewish people in ancient Persia. This artwork includes a number of obvious, as well as hidden symbols, such as the numbers 13 and 14 representing the dates in the month of Adar when 500 and 300 enemies were killed, and 15 - the day all Persian Jews were finally free from threat.
