The 7th Day
This painting celebrates the Sabbath, or “Shabbat”, the day of rest described in the first chapter of Genesis. This artwork includes a number of obvious, as well as hidden symbols, such as the number 7, the Hebrew letters spelling ‘Shabbat’, candles, wine, two loaves of challah bread, and musical notes.
