Western Wall 586-70
This painting celebrates Jerusalem’s Western Wall. It includes a number of obvious, as well as hidden symbols, such as the ancient façade of Solomon’s Temple, the numbers 70 and 586, the years the two Temples were destroyed, as well as their counterpoint years: 1948 and 1967, and the Lion and Crown of David.
